Quantitative Research is projectable and definitive - it samples a specified population and draws conclusions projectable to that population. Quantitative research is used to measure the magnitude of a particular attitude, knowledge, belief or behavior among a specific population. Researchers have many statistical tools available to analyze the findings and develop conclusions about the sample and population.
Quantitative Research can be used to:
- Determine what is the awareness level of our brand/product/company or of our advertising campaign (and for our competitors)
- Measure how people feel toward our product/company and our competitors
- Define our corporate or product image (our strengths and weaknesses)
- Determine what attributes (characteristics) most drive the purchase of this product/service category and purchase from us
- Measure the extent to which specific attributes (characteristics) inhibit growth of the category or sales of the product
- Determine the extent to which our products/employees perform (satisfaction) and, if not, identify which attributes (characteristics) are most perceived as under-performing
- Define the profiles of specific subsamples (e.g. heavy-user customers versus light users and best prospects (Often 20% of customers account for 80% of sales)
- Determine what we should focus on in order to:
- Get more depth (increase sales from current customers)
- Build more breadth (gain sales to new customers)
- Achieve better loyalty (concentrate on customer retention)
TwentyTen Research conducts many types of quantitative studies. Among the most frequently conducted are:
- Advertising awareness and usage (AA&U)
- Advertising/creative/concept/name testing

- Employee studies

- Tracking studies
