John Maben, President
John C. Maben is President and Founder of TwentyTen Research and directs its Denver operations. Before founding TwentyTen Research, John opened the independently owned and licensed Denver office of Message Factors, Inc. (a national marketing research firm) in 1979 and continuously directed its operations until spinning off Message Factors Denver into TwentyTen Research in 2000.
John began his career as a marketing research professional in 1971. His experience includes marketing research and strategic planning assignments in more than 325 different product/service categories. Research techniques include both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. John is an experienced focus group moderator and typically moderates 50 to 60 groups annually.
John developed Category Dynamics, an innovative in-depth telephone technique that is often a superior approach to qualitative business-to-business research, when Focus Groups are not practical. He also developed Communications Strategy Research, a quantitative methodology that defines what marketers should be communicating by correlating what consumers know with what's important to their decision making.
John earned his B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees in Marketing from the University of Georgia. As President of TwentyTen Research and Director of its Denver operations, John brings to each client:

Russell Boyd, Executive Vice President
Russell Boyd is Executive Vice President of TwentyTen Research and directs its Atlanta operations. Prior to joining John Maben in co-founding TwentyTen Research, Russell opened the independently owned and licensed Atlanta office of Message Factors, Inc., a national marketing research firm in 1990 and directed its operations for 10+ years.
In the past, he has owned and operated a full-service marketing services firm providing marketing analysis, research and planning services. And, he has held marketing research/strategic planning positions with several southeastern advertising agencies as well as having served as Director of Advertising and Public Relations for Chromatic, Inc., a high tech manufacturer of color graphic computer systems.
Russell's experience includes marketing research and strategic planning assignments in over 300 different product/service categories including both qualitative and quantitative studies in areas such as attitude/awareness/ usage, positioning, new product development, communications testing, name evaluation, etc. He is also an acknowledged authority on household database marketing applications, having implemented database marketing programs on a national, regional, and local level.
Russell is an experienced focus group moderator, having conducted over 1500 focus group sessions during the past ten years. He is highly skilled in small group dynamics and one-in-one interviewing techniques.
Russell earned his B.A. Journalism degree in Advertising and Public Relations and an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. He is consistently named as a Marketing Research All-Star by The Atlanta Business Chronicle.
